Babaji Hawaii organizes spiritual gatherings, service activities, educational programs, sacred fire observances, community events, and visits to properties associated with its mission.
Participation in these activities is entirely voluntary. Because activities may take place on private property, outdoor environments, farms, volcanic terrain, or future spiritual facilities, participants must read and agree to the following terms before participating.
1. Voluntary Participation
Participants understand that involvement in Babaji Hawaii activities is voluntary and may include:
• Community gatherings
• Sacred fire observances
• Aarti and devotional practice
• Karma yoga and service projects
• Gardening and agriculture
• Land stewardship
• Construction, maintenance, or improvement projects
• Food preparation and community meals
• Walking, hiking, or exploring outdoor environments
Participants agree to participate according to their own judgment, abilities, and physical condition.
2. Natural Environment and Property Conditions
Many Babaji Hawaii activities occur in outdoor environments.
Participants understand that conditions may include:
• Uneven terrain
• Sharp volcanic rock
• Lava tubes and natural geological features
• Mud, slippery surfaces, and loose ground
• Construction or work areas
• Hand tools and equipment
• Weather exposure
• Insects, wildlife, and other natural hazards
Participants accept responsibility for exercising reasonable caution at all times.
Certain areas may be restricted for safety, environmental protection, or preservation purposes. Participants agree to follow all instructions regarding restricted access areas.
3. Assumption of Risk
Participants understand that involvement in outdoor activities, service projects, spiritual gatherings, and visits to private property carries inherent risks.
These risks may include:
• Slips, trips, and falls
• Cuts, scrapes, punctures, or other injuries
• Exposure to weather and environmental conditions
• Injuries resulting from physical activity
• Encounters with wildlife or insects
• Accidents involving tools, equipment, or vehicles
• Serious injury, disability, illness, or death
Participants knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation, whether known or unknown.
4. Health and Personal Responsibility
Participants affirm that they are physically and mentally capable of participating in activities they choose to undertake.
Participants agree to:
• Exercise good judgment
• Remain within their physical abilities
• Follow safety instructions
• Seek medical attention when necessary
Participants remain solely responsible for their own health, medical care, personal decisions, and well-being.
5. Keiki (Minors)
Minors may participate only under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
Parents and guardians assume full responsibility for the safety, supervision, and conduct of minors in their care.
6. Community Standards
Participants agree to support a safe and respectful environment.
The following are prohibited:
• Alcohol
• Illegal drugs
• Weapons
• Aggressive, threatening, or disruptive behavior
• Conduct that places others at unreasonable risk
Babaji Hawaii reserves the right to deny or terminate participation at any time.
7. Photography and Media
Photographs or video recordings may occasionally be taken during activities, events, or gatherings.
By participating, individuals grant permission for Babaji Hawaii to use photographs or recordings that may include their likeness for educational, informational, historical, promotional, or community purposes.
Participants who prefer not to appear in photographs should notify event organizers.
8. Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, participants release and hold harmless Babaji Hawaii, Pohoiki Ashram, property owners, directors, officers, volunteers, organizers, and participants from any claims, demands, injuries, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from participation in activities or presence on associated properties.
9. Indemnification
Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless Babaji Hawaii, Pohoiki Ashram, and associated representatives from claims or liabilities arising from their own actions or conduct.
10. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Hawaiʻi.
11. Acknowledgment
By signing this Agreement, submitting it electronically, participating in an activity, or entering a property associated with Babaji Hawaii, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and voluntarily agree to these terms.
Participants further acknowledge that they understand the inherent risks associated with outdoor activities and voluntarily accept those risks, including the possibility of serious injury, disability, or death.
